Welcome to Graneta Limousins located near BELL Qld, in the foothills of the Bunya Mountains.

Superior breeding demonstrated by an outstanding show record. The Gaffney Family have been strong competitors in both Prime and Hoof & Hook competitions winning numerous Championships in recent times.

Highlights include Champion Prime Steer 1998, 2002 & 2010, Champion Led Steer 2005, Champion Heavy Weight Led Steer 2006 & 2009, Woolworths Carcase Competitions and Best Meat Eating Quality Award 2008 & 2009 at RNA Brisbane.  During this time we realised a steer which had Limousin genetics was a standout performer in these types of competitions due to their exceptional carcass characteristics, large eye muscle, even fat cover, thickness, muscle definition and high yielding capabilities. This is why we chose to register our cows and become Limousin members.

Our aim is to produce cattle which have good temperament and natural softness, are easy doing, have structural correctness and reproductive soundness, calving ease, good depth of body as well as the ability to retain yield and enhance eating quality. We currently run over 100 registered females with a mixture of black and apricots plus an Angus based commercial herd.  We require our females to be functional, good milkers and reproduce at the highest level in a commercial herd environment. Sire “Mandayen Easy Rider E1360″ black poll son of ”Hunt Mr Jock” is our newest addition to our herd after purchasing him from the Mandayen sale (SA) this year.  Easy Rider has a quiet temperament, natural softness, is easy doing and is performing well.  In addition, we run a large AI program using sires Wulfs Uppermost, Noble Prize, Wulfs Waldo, Wulfs Realtor and Graneta Caesar.

Graneta utilizes breedplan to assist in making important breeding decisions as well as participating in the Limousin Quality Assurance program.  With this in mind we are proud to ensure our cattle offered to beef producers, both commercial and seed stock, are guaranteed quality performance animals.
